KAMPALA. FIM, the regional body governing motocross in Africa, have stepped in to help Team Uganda ahead of the continental championship.
The FIM Africa Motocross of Africa Nations is scheduled for next Saturday, August 29 in Harare. The continental body will give the team nearly UgShs50m ($14,000), which is required for transporting the team and accommodation.
Maxime van Pee, the Team Uganda captain, was excited with the offer from the continental body.

Well-wishers
“We have been informed by FIM about the situation. This is very positive news but our appeal still goes to partners and well-wishers to come forward. We need money for meals and upkeep,” the reigning MX champion told Daily Monitor.
Maxime revealed that the bikes left for Zimbabwe by road on Monday and are scheduled to leave Tanzania today.
Some members leave later this week by road while others will fly out next Thursday. Uganda will be represented by a team of more than 20 riders in the MX1 (4 riders), MX2 (5), MX85 (4), MX65 (5) and MX50 (4).
Meanwhile, Maxime will unleash a new KTM 350cc 2016 model valued at Shsh32m while in Harare.
