NEW DELHI: Lenovo has joined the ranks of ZTE and Phicomm as the maker of India’s cheapest 4G smartphone with the launch of its A2010 handset, priced at Rs 4,990.
ZTE’s Blade Qlux 4G and Phicomm’s Energy 653 also hold the same title since the two also cost Rs 4,990.
As is the case with other Lenovo models, the new A2010 will be available exclusively via Flipkart. Registrations for the first flash sale started at 12pm today, and the phone’s black variant will go on sale on September 3 at 3pm.
Lenovo A2010
has a 4.5-inch screen with 480x854p resolution and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) operating system. The smartphone packs a 1GHz quad-core Mediatek MT6735m chipset with 1GB RAM under the hood, with 8GB internal storage and microSD card support up to 32GB.
The all-new A2010 budget smartphone has a 5MP rear camera with LED flash on the back and a 2MP camera in front. Apart from 4G (both TDD and FDD bands), its connectivity suite consists of 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB 2.0. This dual-sim smartphone’s 2,000mAh battery can deliver talk time of up to 8.5 hours on 3G and 4G networks, the company claims.
Sudhin Mathur, director – smartphones, Lenovo India, said, “We at Lenovo are looking to bridge the gap between the latest technology and an Indian consumer by offering innovative and future-proof devices easily available to the masses at an affordable price. Lenovo A2010 is a step in this direction.”

Amitesh Jha, vice president – retail, Flipkart, said, “The Lenovo 4G smartphones have been very well received by our customers since their introduction in January this year. We are happy to launch Lenovo A2010 – one of the most affordable 4G smartphone in the Indian market today. We are positive that this new-age smartphone will cater to every customer’s requirement.”
According to a recent IDC report, Lenovo accounts for 30% of the total 4G smartphones sold in the country in the second quarter.
