Krishna University Vice-Chancellor D. Surya Chandra Rao on Tuesday asked students not to spoil their career by resorting to ragging.
His observation assumes significance in the wake of the incidents at Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU) and SV University.
Participating as a chief guest at the freshers’ day celebrations at Nalanda Degree College at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram auditorium here, he said the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the government considered ragging incidents seriously.

The packed auditorium came alive with cultural programmes and dance shows by students. Mr. Rao earlier felicitated R. Kalpana, a student of the college, for getting selected to the Indian women’s cricket team.
He also presented certificates and mementoes to students who excelled in their respective courses.
