Sprint and T-Mobile CEOs take to Twitter to hash out latest RootMetrics results

Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure boastful, while T-Mobile US CEO John Legere defensive

The latest network test rankings from RootMetrics drew pointed commentary from Sprint and T-Mobile US CEOs, both of whom took to their favorite medium – Twitter – to make their points.

Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure took to the Twitter-verse first, touting the carrier’s improved performance across the nation’s top 125 metro markets.

Claure then looked to set Twitter on fire by touting the carrier’s tied-for-No. 2-position with AT&T Mobility in terms of nationwide call performance, while T-Mobile US’ was a distant No. 4, or as Claure stated “LAST,” followed by some Photoshop magic.

T-Mobile US CEO John Legere took a bit of time, but eventually responded with his own account of events, citing the lag time between the time data for the report was collected and when the results were released.

Legere instead cited speed testing conducted by Ookla, which T-Mobile US has partnered with and it claims provides a more up-to-date measurement of consumer experiences.

Verizon Wireless, which came out on top in the latest RootMetrics rankings, was a bit more reserved in its commentary, releasing a video with CNO Nicki Palmer touting the carrier’s achievements.
