Rumour: Sevilla turned down chance to sign Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes

Sevilla reportedly rejected the chance to make a move for Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes over the cost and their faith in Beto and Sergio Rico.
AS cites a report from Radio Sevilla suggesting that although Valdes' long-term future is believed to lie in MLS, he has been offered to a number of clubs in Europe during the current transfer window.
Sevilla was one of them but the Spanish side felt they wouldn’t be able to match the financial package Valdes receives at Old Trafford - and weren’t in the market for a goalkeeper anyway, as there is confidence in Beto and Rico.
Beto is considered one of the most important players in the Sevilla locker room for his presence as much as his performances, the report notes. Rico, meanwhile, helps Sevilla meet their home-grown quota and did well last year, having his contract renewed.
