On Peshwa's 315th birth anniversary, Ranveer paid a tribute to the Maratha warrior on the micro-blogging site Twitter. He said he's hounoured to be a part of bringing Peshwa's love story on the silver screen.

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Bajirao Mastani is based on the love story between 18th century Maratha warrior Peshwa Bajirao I (Ranveer Singh) and his second wife Mastani (Deepika). Priyanka plays Kashibai, the first wife of Peshwa Bajirao.
Touted to be one of the most anticipated films of 2015, the first teaser trailer of the period drama has already piqued the interest of the audiences. The film is slated to release on December 18.
