Shamrock Rovers eased to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Cork City tonight but the biggest cheer was reserved for the introduction of Irish football legend Damien Duff.

Goals from Gavin Brennan, Danny North and Brandon Miele handed Pat Fenlon's side all three points, but it was the debut of the former Chelsea and Newcastle winger that had the home crowd rocking tonight.

Miele was replaced at the death following the third goal as Duff got his first taste of League of Ireland football and the reaction was every bit as positive as you would expect.
