End their 14-year hibernation to face the camera for R Balki’s romcom, Ki and Ka.
At 72, Amitabh Bachchan is bustling with the energy and enthusiasm of a five year old. On Sunday, after a 10-hour shoot for a special appearance with wife Jaya in R Balki’s upcoming romcom Ki and Ka, Big B returned home to blog his dismay over Chelsea’s loss to Manchester City and Bengal Warriors defeating beta Abhishek’s franchise, Jaipur Pink Panthers, in a kabbadi match.
The Bachchans had last faced the camera together in 2012 for Ganga Devi, their make-up man, Deepak Savant's Bhojpuri film. Their last Hindi film, 14 years ago, was Karan Johar’s family drama, Kabhi Khushi... Kabhie Gham.
It was a comedy sequence with Arjun Kapoor. The power couple were allowed to pick their own costumes. “Mr Bachchan chose a blue Nehru jacket and Jaya opted for a red sari with a gold blouse. “The couple play themselves in the film and a suite in a suburban hotel was converted into the living room of Jalsa, their Juhu bungalow. Pictures of Abhishek and Shweta Bachchan were sourced and photographs of their father from his young days were hung on the wall, along with a portrait of their grandfather Harivanshrai Bachchan in a gold frame. The furniture was also replicated, along with the décor,” a source told Mirror.
