Egyptian striker Amr Zaki visited Manchester City players in the United Arab Emirates to congratulate them on winning the English Premier League title.

The team are currently in the UAE to celebrate the title with the club's Emirati owners, while Zaki is also in the Gulf country on injury rehabilitation.

On Wednesday, Zaki posted a photo on his Facebook page with Manchester City players Vincent Kompany, David Silva, Joe Hart and Martin Demichelis.

Zaki had two previous experiences in the Premier League: the first when he joined Wigan Athletic on a one-year loan deal from Zamalek in 2008, during which he quickly emerged as one of the League's top scorers.

Despite that brilliant start, Zaki was dealt a sudden blow, suffering injury and then being involved in problems with the coaching staff.

He also had a short and unsuccessful loan spell with Hull City that lasted only three months.

The Egyptian player is currently a free agent after parting ways amicably with Moroccan side Raja de Casablanca in February.

Zaki, 31, joined Raja in January in a bid to resurrect his faltering career after ending a brief and unsuccessful spell with Kuwaiti club Al-Salmiya.

When Zaki was injured he had to undergo ankle surgery in Munich that sidelined him for the season.

Zaki made his debut for Egypt in 2004, helping the national side win the African Nations Cup in 2006 and 2008.

The former Zamalek marksman has struggled to reach form for the past two years due to repeated injuries. He remains a key player in Egypt's national squad, however.
