AN ITV POLITICAL reporter has described attempting to save a man who died in an apparent suicide in Greece.

The broadcaster’s political editor Tom Bradbury was on holiday in the Greek port city of Rafina and tweeted that he’d seen the man drive his car off a harbour wall.

In a series of follow up tweets, then said that he tried to help the man and remove him from the car but wasn’t able to.

BBC News reports that the death of the man has been confirmed by the Rafina Port Authority who gave no further details of the circumstances.

Bradbury was previously ITV’s Ireland correspondent and was known more recently for carrying out the first interview with Prince William and Kate Middleton after their engagement.

He was recently announced as the main news anchor on ITV’s News at Ten.
