Policemen among 3 injured in Peshawar attack

Two police constables and a passerby was injured in the attack

PESHAWAR: At least three people including two policemen were injured when unidentified armed men attacked a police van in Hayatabad area of Peshawar on Friday evening.

According to details, a police van of Khyber Chowki was on a routine patrol when it came under fire from two armed men riding on a motorbike.

The attack left constables Anwar and Bakhat Munir injured. A passerby Amjad was also injured in the attack.

The injured were rushed to the Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) where their condition was described as stable.

Later, the police launched a search operation in the area and rounded up several suspects.

“We have launched a search operation in the area and have arrested several people,” said an official of the local Hayatabad police station while talking to The Express Tribune.
