Stocks that are in focus today: NBCC, Tata Motors, IOC and more

The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty opened firm on Friday tracking firm Asian cues. At 9.42 am, Sensex was up 130.27 points at 27,679.80. Similarly, Nifty was up 39.25 points at 8,395.10 during the same time.

The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty opened 118.53 points and 46.5 points higher at 27,668.06 and 8,402.35, respectively.

Below are the stocks that are likely to be in focus today:

DLF: India’s largest realty firm on Thursday reported a 5 per cent decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 121.55 crore for the quarter ended June due to higher finance cost and rise in operational expenses. Its profit stood at Rs 127.77 crore in year-ago period. The shares were trading up 4.12 per cent at Rs 118.75 in early trade.

Tata Motors: Tata Motors chairman Cyrus Mistry at the company’s AGM said on Thursday that he is pained for not being able to give the “rightful dividend” to the investors, who questioned the reasons given by the company. Answering shareholders’ queries and demands in this regard, Mistry said, “My personal belief is that it’s a bad day for the company. I feel extremely unfortunate this day. The shares were trading up 0.37 per cent at Rs 350.70 in early trade.

National Buildings Construction Corporation: The State-owned construction firm reported a 31.5 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit at Rs 44.08 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2015. Its net profit stood at Rs 33.52 crore in the year-ago period. The shares were trading up 3.85 per cent at Rs 1032 in early trade.

Tata Steel: Tata Steel said on Thursday it has received shareholders’ nod to raise up to Rs 10,000 crore through securities to meet capital requirements. In a BSE filing on Thursday, the firm said its shareholders approved “further issuance of securities not exceeding Rs 10,000 crore.” The shares were up 0.28 per cent at Rs 234.25 in early trade.

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC): Finance Ministry has shortlisted five merchant bankers, including Citibank and Nomura, for disinvestment of 10 per cent stake in IOC, which could fetch the exchequer about Rs 9,500 crore. As many as 10 merchant bankers had made a beeline for managing IOC stake sale and the disinvestment department has shortlisted five from them. The shares were down 0.30 per cent at Rs 392.80 in early trade.

Nestle India: The stocks of the company will be in focus today as well following Bombay High Court order on Thursday that lifted the ban slapped by FSSAI on Maggi noodles. The shares of the company were trading down 0.18 per cent at Rs 6345.

Companies like Amara Raja Baterries, Amtek Auto, BEML, DCW, JMT Auto, Kwality, Lumax Auto, Bliss GVS, Voltamp, Responsive India, Punj Lloyd, Jet Airways, Elecon Eng, Vivimed Lab, TI, Hindalco, BRFL, Datamatics, Deep Industries, Great offshore, Manappuram, Selan, Pipavav, Saregama India, HBL Power, Liberty Shoe, MBL Infra and Venus Remedies are some of the major ones which may announce their earnings on Friday.
