Initial Gurdaspur terror attack probe reports have hinted that the terrorists might have taken the help of local terror modules to launch the strike as the theory of terrorists travelling with heavy bags containing RDX bombs, weapons and ammunition lack credence.

"Had they crossed the swollen Ravi River the water and mud might have spoiled their bags, clothes and shoes which in fact were found clean. No signs of human activity were found on the bank of the river. Also no spare clothes were recovered from their bags which would have proved that they changed the wet clothes," a BSF
official said.

Sources said that the police is trying to get the satellite linkage data of two GPS systems recovered from the terrorists which will prove their actual route. BSF officials said that the data and places found on the GPS devices might have been fed to confuse the agencies manually.

BSF in its report submitted to Punjab DGP Sumedh Singh Saini said that the chests of the three terrorists were found shaved, which pointed out the Jihad connection. Chests of Jhihadis are shaved off during a ritual before assigning them the terror-job.

Sources said the bags containing RDX, ammunition and weapons might have been dispatched much before the suicide bombers arrived in Gurdaspur. The fidayeens, sources said, slipped into Punjab from Kashmir side and hid themselves at a safe place till the weapons and ammunition were handed over to them.

The BSF in its 60 page report has also said that the Gurdaspur attackers had a Mumbai attack like plan in their mind.

"The actual route using which the terrorists reached Dinanagar will only be revealed by the Satellite Linkage report. The records found on the GPS devices are misleading and does not appear to be real," IG BSF Punjab Frontiers, Anil Paliwal said.
