Hyderabad: Captain T. Suman scored a swashbuckling double century to help Hyderabad XI thrash Chairman’s XI by nine wickets in the Lala Harbans Lal senior zonals cricket tournament played in the city.
Batting second, Hyderabad XI chased down the target set by Chairman’s XI in 54.1 overs. Suman’s innings of 205 came in just 172 balls which included as many as 27 fours and nine sixes. He was well supported by Rohith Rayudu — who scored a patient 116. Earlier, Chairman’s XI made 331/9 in 96.3 overs after taking first strike.
Left-arm pacer Anwar Ahmed Khan bowled a brilliant spell to take five wickets and gave away 35 runs as his team Abbas Ali Baig XI emerged victorious against Rest XI by 170 runs.
Chasing the target of 318, Rest XI folded for 147 in 61 overs. D. Ashrith and Kaneshkk Naidu were the top performers for P. Krishnamurthy XI as they won their game against President’s XI by 67 runs. Southpaw D. Ashrith’s 103 helped P. Krishnamurthy post 313. Later Kaneshkk Naidu took 5/35 as President’s XI bowled out for 246.
Mehdi Hasan of Secunderabad XI followed up his five wicket haul in the first innings with a valiant 62 as his team won the game against Colleges and Schools XI by two wickets.

M.L. Jaisimha XI 230 in 77.2 overs (Rajat Ramesh 34) lost to Combined XI 181/8 in 47.3 overs (Sandeep Goud 66, C. Satish 4/72). Combined XI won by 2 wickets on better run rate.
