The Weinstein Co. has promoted Patrick Reardon to executive VP overseeing unscripted TV, including the company’s signature TV series “Project Runway.”

Reardon has been with the company since 2013 as a senior VP. His mandate with the promotion is to expand the company’s reach into game shows, talk shows, true crime and comedies.

“Our pride in the company’s television department continues to grow every day as we look at new opportunities to take part in the great renaissance that TV is experiencing,” Weinstein Co. co-chairmen Harvey and Bob Weinstein said in a statement. “Patrick is one of the finest talents in the business and we are so proud to have him take on an expanded role in guiding the department to an exciting future.”

Weinstein Co. has been rumored to be in on and off talks to sell a stake in its TV division to the U.K.’s ITV Group. The parent company has seen a string of executive departures on the film side in recent weeks. Unscripted TV, however, has emerged as a solid source of revenue for the company with Lifetime’s “Project Runway” and its spinoffs, as well as VH1’s “Mob Wives,” A&E’s “Rodeo Girls” and Lifetime’s “Million Dollar Shoppers.”

“There’s never been a more exciting time to be working in this industry and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to help continue to build the unscripted business here at TWC,” Reardon said.
