He called her Sophia; she called herself "Whore". She knew she'd wreak havoc when she left. Now Gregg, abandoned, can only honor her self-serving legacy; and is consequently having a vaguely schizophrenic break. Friendship - a deceptively cheerful word, isn't it?

O' Save Us, St. Sophia, a gritty drama that alternates between harsh street life and a haunted, surreal space created in an addict's ailing mind; addresses the intimacy, vulnerability, and ultimate carnage that is friendship. Written by Mikey Craighead and directed by Sophia Lana Cohen Smith. "This play is both a celebration of friendship and an argument against it," says Director Cohen Smith. "It's for anyone who has ever asked themself if they should hang on to a sinking ship, or if they should cut ties."

O' Save Us, St. Sophia is a production of Dirty Dishes Theatre Company, whose members are part of The New School for Drama's milestone BFA program. The play is a selection of this year's New York International Fringe Festival, which is celebrating its 19th year anniversary, August 14-30. Performances are scheduled on SUN 16 @ 12:30PM, WED 19 @ 6PM, SAT 22 @ 2:30PM, WED 26 @ 9:30PM, SAT 29 @ 7:15PM.

The cast includes Zak Kelley (Gregg), Mikey Craighead who in addition to being the playwright is also part of the ensemble (Watchful Shepard), Sophie Parens (Sophia), Julian Thomas (Mark), Emily Ashenden (Faith), Natalie Bialostozky (Lovey), and Katy Roth (Hope).

Sophia Lana Cohen Smith directs O' Save Us, St. Sophia. Additional crew includes Tiggy Flaherty (stage manager), Kevin Klakouski (set design), Mead Ryder, Kimber Monroe and Maddie Stoffer (production assistants)

Tickets for O' Save Us, St. Sophia are $18.00 and can e purchased online or on your Smartphone starting on July 17th.
