Swaroop Sampat to make a comeback with R.Balki's 'Ki And Ka'

In the mid 1980s, Swaroop Sampat Rawal was at the peak of her acting career with Kundan Shah's hit television sitcom ' Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi'. Then she slowly pulled herself out of the acting world, playing the real-life role of the wife of actor Paresh Rawal.

The much-loved actress took a sabbatical from films and then worked on a PhD focusing on education, drama and learning disabilities and went on to do several workshops across the country, helping parents understand learning disabilities among children.

While the actress' last full fledged film was Hrishikesh Mukherjee's 'Naram Garam' , 34 years later she makes a big comeback in R.Balki's 'Ki And Ka', a story of 2 people played by Arjun Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan with completely different ideologies and their interesting journey.
Sources reveal that Swaroop will essay the role of Kareena's mother in the film. Adding that the makers were looking at casting an actress who would fit the bill of a young, sharp, fun and stylish mother.

When R.Balki approached her with the script , she loved it and agreed to come on board after much deliberation. The actress who heads an educational program for children, has worked her time around in a manner that she can both shoot for the film and fulfill her other commitments.
Sources also add that Swaroop and Paresh Rawal's children were instrumental in convincing their mother to take up the role.
