Following the hit song Bulbu, which was based on unrequited love, a condition colloquially referred to as ‘love failure’, actor Ganesh Prasad will be releasing Jana Gana Mana, a single track video album. Actress Ineya, who’s paired opposite him, says, she’s happy to be a part of an independent album on the occasion of Indian Independence Day.
“I was also a part of Bulbu which went viral on social networking sites. That was young and peppy and this is patriotic and lyrical,” says Ineya. The actress says that in Hollywood and Bollywood it is common to release a single-track video album that isn’t connected with any film.
“But in Tamil, it’s a trend which is only now catching on. This will inspire other independent music composers to make more single-track albums. The market value for such albums is on the rise. I enjoy working on such different productions. Jana Gana Mana will be on the lines of AR Rahman’s Vande Maataram. Veteran singers like Abhya Jodpurkar, Nithyashree and Mano have sung it and will be released on August 15,” she adds.
Ineya says she doesn’t want to do only films. “I am interesting in expanding my horizons. I am currently busy with my dance production, short films, endorsements, modelling and of course, films,” she smiles. Barath Kumar has written and directed the song, while Santhosh Alan is the choreographer.
