After Pathankot search operation on Sunday, a massive search operation was launched by Punjab police in the Mukerian, Tanda of Hoshiarpur district and part of Gurdaspur district on Monday. According to a report, three suspicious persons were spotted by ateacher of a local government school near Mukerian subdivision of the district.
ADGP Law and order Rohit Chaudhary was monitoring the entire operation which was launched around 10:00 in the morning and was still underway at the time this report was filed.
SSP Hoshiapur Dhanpreet kaur, SSP Gurdaspur Gurpreet Singh ACP Mukerian Nanak Singh were leading the search operations.
It is learnt that a school teacher of village Purika had informed that he had seen three persons in army uniform travelling in an Alto vehicles and were carrying the weapons like AK-47.
Police swung into action immediately and the entire area was sealed as heavy police force was deployed in the surrounding villages.
Senior police officer said that the search operation was massive as they could not take any chance.
Every vehicle passing through the area is being thoroughly checked and so far no suspicious person is spotted, said SSP Hoshiarpur Dhanpreet Kaur.
After combing the villages, police now has reached Jalandhar –Pathnakot National Highway and the search operation is still going on.
