Sandeep Sharma and Karan Arya, driving a Maruti Suzuki Gypsy, were crowned the winners of Ultimate Cars category at the seventh edition of the Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare rally.
Hyderabad: Sandeep Sharma and Karan Arya, driving a Maruti Suzuki Gypsy, were crowned the winners of Ultimate Cars category at the seventh edition of the Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare rally which culminated in Hyderabad on Saturday after covering a distance of 2,000 kilometres across places Bengaluru, Hampi, Bellary and Shimoga.
Sandeep, the defending champion, maintained a tight grip on the lead from start to finish this year as well. Samrat Yadav and Navigator Gaurav finished second while Suresh Rana and Parminder occupied the third place on the podium.
In ultimate Bikes, Arvind K.P. clinched the top prize with a record-breaking time of 3:54:51 while Natraj and Abdul Wahid finished second and third respectively.
In the Endurance category, Ganesh Moorthy and Nagarajan from Team Maruti bagged the top prize by making it over the finishing line with the least penalty time (6 minutes and 4 seconds). Karthick Maruti and S Shanker Anand were second while Asgar Ali and navigator M. Musthafa settled for a third-place finish.

Ultimate Cars: 1. Sandeep Sharma & Karan Arya (Team Maruti, 4:31:31), 2. Samrat Yadav & Gaurav (4:39:59), 3. Suresh Rana & Parminder (4:41:25).
Ultimate Bikes: 1. Arvind K.P. (3:54:51), 2. Natraj (4:00:10), 3. Abdul Wahid (4:14:15).
Endurance Cars (TSD): 1. Ganesh Moorthy & Nagarajan (Team Maruti, penalty of 6:04), 2. Karthick Maruti & S. Shanker Anand (penalty of 6:14), 3. Asgar Ali & Musthafa (penalty of 7:45).
