Threat to KBR National Park walkway

Divisional forest officer has confirmed that not an inch of the inner park will be touched

Hyderabad: A prime portion of the six-km peripheral walk-way/joggers’ track of KBR National Park, Jubilee Hills, is to turn into a concrete bridge.

The 30-foot-wide outer walkers’ track to be occupied mainly at the KBR entrance is to give way for two flyovers heading from Banjara Hills, Road No. 2 and second from the Cancer Hospital, both passing parallel to the park and ending before Jubilee Hills Checkpost.

The divisional forest officer has confirmed that not an inch of the inner park will be touched. Of the six km, presently five km are used and now, with the proposal, the existing will also be taken away. Every day, close to 2,800 walkers use this track; the entire pathway will be disturbed.
