Bihar polls: BJP to launch Parivartan Rath campaigns

Patna: The BJP today said that the "movement for change" has begun in Bihar and announced four simultaneous 'Parivartan Yatra' as part of its campaign this month to cover entire state for the forthcoming Assembly

Patna: The BJP today said that the "movement for change" has begun in Bihar and announced four simultaneous 'Parivartan Yatra' as part of its campaign this month to cover entire state for the forthcoming Assembly polls to seek the mandate of public for it.

"The movement for change has started in Bihar in which BJP and NDA are participating together. Our party president Amit Shah launched it by giving green signal to 200 'Parivartan Rath' (chariots of change). We are now going to launch four Parivartan Yatras to cover the entire state this month," Union Chemical and Fertiliser Minister Ananth Kumar said.

Kumar, who is also Bihar in-charge of BJP for Assembly elections said these yatras will be launched on August 12 and will continue till August 28.

They will traverse the entire state and visit all 243 constituencies conducting public meetings, establishing direct connect with the voters and appealing to them "to give the mandate of change to BJP and NDA, as well as, opportunity of good governance," he said.

"Our campaign will be positive and we will raise the issue related to welfare, development, agriculture and employment of the people of Bihar. We will also tell about the work done by the Centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," he added.

The Union Minister said the first yatra will begin from the revered 'Harihar Kshetra' at Sonepur in Saran district. It will be led by senior state BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, and will cover Tirhut- Saran region of the state.

The second yatra will be led by Leader of Opposition in Bihar Legislative Assembly Nand Kishore Yadav. It will cover Begusarai - Bhagalpur region. Lok Sabha members Ashwini Kumar Chaubey and Ajay Nishad will be a part of it. Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh will lead the third yatra which will cover Mithilanchal and Kosi region.

Union Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation Ram Kripal Yadav and MP Kameshwar Chaupal will be a part of this yatra. Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Giriraj Singh will lead the fourth yatra, which will cover Magadh and Patna region. Union Minister for Skill Development Rajiv Pratap Rudy and former state minister Prem Kumar will be a part of it.

Kumar said several meetings will be conducted during the course of these four yatras and many big leaders belonging to NDA will participate in them. He also announced that an 'election campaign committee' has been formed to ensure smooth campaign across the state. Rajya Sabha member and former Union Minister C P Thakur has been made its convenor.

Similarly former Union Minister Hukumdeo Narayan Yadav has been made the convenor of 'election publicity committee, while Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh has been made the convenor of 'election announcement committee'.

Kumar also said that MP Ntiyanand Rai has been appointed the convenor of PM Narendra Modi's rally in Saharsa on August 18 while BJP national spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain has been appointed the convenor for his rally in Bhagalpur on August 30.
