She would go to the moon and back for her children so they feel like plodding the streets of Brisbane putting up posters to help find her is the least they can do.

Constantia "Connie" Reardon and Andrea Constantinou made an urgent public plea on Friday to help find their mum, who hadn't been seen since Monday.

They're worried for her health because the 57-year-old suffers from both mental and physical health conditions and doesn't have her medication with her.

Her deteriorating mental condition was making her even harder to track down.

Senior Sergeant Darren Madgwick said Caroline was spotted on CCTV in busy Queen Street Mall but by the time police arrived she had disappeared again, possibly in a taxi.

"Unfortunately she will not approach police and if she does see police she will probably turn the other way," he said.

"(It's) just part of her mental state and delusional aspects at this stage so it's making things quite difficult from a police point of view to try and find her."

Andrea said she and her sister still lived close to their mother in Brisbane's west and it was hard dealing with her disappearance.

"She means the world to us. She gave birth to us so she means the world to us," she said.

"Everyone has told me that knows her that she's the best mother they know.

"She would go to the moon and back for her three children. She would absolutely do anything for us."

Along with Queen Street Mall and the rest of the CBD, Caroline was believed to be frequenting areas such as West End and the western suburbs.

She disappeared from Auchenflower in Brisbane's west on Monday.

Family arrived at her unit on Chasely Street to take her to a medical appointment but she was nowhere to be found.

"It's our mother so it is hard, as it would be for anyone that's losing their mother but we're coping and we're doing the best that we can," Andrea said.

"We're putting flyers out, we're sharing Facebook links, we're getting friends to hand out flyers, friends to drive around Brisbane, so we're trying to do as much as we can."

Caroline was believed to have money with her, which was allowing her to get around town, but no medication.

It's the second time she has disappeared, following a much shorter escape from the Wesley Hospital previously.

Andrea said she needed help and medication urgently.
