MIM has decided to contest municipal elections in Karnataka
Hyderabad: All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) has decided to contest municipal elections in Karnataka by fielding its candidates in as many as 75 divisions in Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) elections which are scheduled to be held on August 22.
The Karnataka State Election Commission has issued notification on August 3 to hold the elections to the civic body and fixed August 10 as the last sate for filing of nominations.
MIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi and his brother Akbaruddin Owaisi, MIM floor leader in the Telangana Assembly, had expressed confidence about their party’s success in the Bengaluru civic polls after its impressive performance in civic polls in Aurangabad, Bidar and Basavakalyan.
