NEW DELHI: The Congress on Tuesday launched an all-out assault on the BJP with party vice president Rahul Gandhi saying the opposition will not be cowed down by the BJP's "pressure tactics" in Parliament.

"We will not reduce the pressure. Let BJP throw all of us out of Parliament. Sushma Swaraj, Vasundhara Raje and Shivraj Chouhan will have to resign," the Congress leader said, reacting to the suspension fo 25 Congresss MPs on Monday for disrupting the House.

"What the Modi government did with Congress MPs is being done across country with students, on internet, with farmers."

The Congress was out in full strength as they wore black arm bands and staged a protest at the Gandhi statue in Parliament House. "Democracy has been murdered," said party chief Sonia Gandhi, who led the protest. Former prime minister Manmohan Singh was also present at the protest.

"I am not asking for their resignation, neither is the Congress, but the people of India want their resignation," Gandhi told reporters."The Vyapam scam has destroyed lives of thousands, Sushma Swaraj has broken laws, Rajasthan CM is financially involved with Lalit Modi."

Upping his ante against the PM, Sonia said: "PM has a habit of speaking his 'mann ki baat' but he has no time for "Hindustan ki mann ki baat."

Congress members, including leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, and former Union ministers Ghulam Nabi Azad, Jairam Ramesh and Ambika Soni also raised slogans. "Many parties like the Trinamool Congress, the Left and the Aam Aadmi Party have pledged their support to us and said they will boycott Lok Sabha proceedings," Kharge said.

Leaders from the other opposition parties like SP and RJD also joined the Congress MPs in their protest.

The decision by Lok Sabha Speaker is "unlawful", SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav said, as he asked her to reconsider the suspensions.
