Alleged Assault

A 39yr old man, crew of a fishing vessel remains admitted at the ICU Ward, CWM Hospital for treatment. Meanwhile the crew that was involved in the brawl yesterday is still being questioned at the Totogo Police Station.

Investigation continues into the above matter.

Serious Accidents

We wish to advise motorists once again to be cautious whilst using the road during this adverse weather conditions.

Two students were hit by a car in two separate incidents that occurred yesterday morning. In the first incident a 12yr old student was hit by a taxi driven by a 60yr old driver along Nasinu.

The student was rushed to CWM Hospital and remains admitted under observations. The 60yr old driver was brought in and questioned and later released. Police awaits medical reports on the status of the victim in order to lay charges.

In the second incident, 16yr old student remains admitted at the Wainibokasi Hospital after she was bumped by a rental car driven a 26yr old man.

The accident occurred along Davuilevu Road and the victim was rushed to Nausori Health Centre before being transferred to Wainibokasi Hospital for admittance.

The 26yr old driver was brought in, questioned and later released. Police awaits medical reports on the status of the victim in order to lay charges.

Investigation continues into the above matter.

Alleged Fatal Road Accident

We are requesting the general public to assist us with regards to information that led to an alleged fatal. The accident occurred along Votualevu, in Nadi whereby a 14yr old was bumped by an unknown white van around 6pm yesterday.

It is alleged that the white van fled from the scene soon after the accident and we request the assistance from the public to come forward and assist in investigation. The van may have been damaged in the front due to the impact of the accident.

The 14yr old boy was rushed to Nadi Hospital but was unsuccessful as the boy died instantly at the scene.

We wish to remind parents to be cautious on the whereabouts of their children as we approach the end of another school term.

The same plea goes to motorist to be mindful of other road users whilst using the road.

Investigation continues into the above accident.
