Adi Perukku celebrated

With holy dip in rivers and falls and special pujas in temples, people celebrated Adi Perukku in the district on Monday. Hundreds took holy dip in Suruli Theertham and Periyar river in Cumbum and other parts of the district in the morning.

Many thronged temples in Cumbum, Surulipatti and Periyakulam and took part in special pujas.

Dindigul

People could not bathe in Vaigai river at Anaikaraipatti in Nilakottai block in Dindigul district as there was no water in it.

They participated in special pujas performed at Sri Anjaneyar Temple on the river bank. Special pujas and aradhanas were performed at Lord Siva and Lord Vishnu temples in the district for Adi festival.
