ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (AP) - The state Transportation Cabinet says southbound Interstate 65 remains shut down by a crash south of Elizabethtown.
The cabinet says the southbound lanes are expected to be closed until nearly 11 p.m. Officials say vehicles between the crash at mile point 90 and Exit 91 have been cleared by way of weigh station ramps, but southbound traffic approaching the detour is still backed up beginning around mile point 97.
Southbound travelers are being urged to consider taking another route in advance of Elizabethtown, where Exit 94 is experiencing heavy congestion. Traffic is also backed up from I-65 into westbound Bluegrass Parkway.
Motorists already in the area should take Exit 91 to westbound Western Kentucky Parkway, then to southbound Natcher Parkway and rejoin I-65 in Bowling Green.
