Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Monday instructed officials to take up house construction for the economically deprived sections of the society in a phased manner. Housing colonies for the poor will also be set up even in Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills, among other places, he said. Mr. Rao held a meeting with Minister for Housing A. Indrakaran Reddy and Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma on the issue. He also instructed the officials to identify land in the city for the scheme. While funds for the housing scheme are already allocated in the budget, income generated from regularisation of government land will be used for the scheme, he said.
