Motivational sessions welcome freshers in engineering colleges

The managements of engineering colleges in the district ensured a head start for commencement of classes for students enrolled in BE / B Tech courses through inaugural programmes to motivate the freshers.

‘Identify individual talent’

At the Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, C. Sylendrababu, Additional Director General of Police, Coastal Security Group, Tamil Nadu, advised students to identify their individual talent and excel in their chosen fields with self-confidence and self-determination. About 1,600 first year students and their parents had the opportunity to listen to reflections of final year students.

A.M. Natarajan, Chief Executive, BIT, introduced Deans, Department Heads and teaching staff to the gathering in the presence of the Principal D. Saravanan.

College Chairman S.V. Balasubramaniam, presided over. M.P.Vijayakumar, IAS (Retd), Trustee & Director, Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, and distinguished alumna Vaanmathi IAS encouraged students to be focussed to achieve targets.

‘Be strong in concepts’

The Erode Sengunthar Engineering College invited the 20th batch of first-year students by arranging a motivational session involving Radhika Srinivasan, Manager - HR, USD Global Limited, Chennai.

Ms. Radhika exhorted students to be strong in concepts.

Preparation has to start from the very first year to achieve well in campus interviews, she said.

Erode Sengunthar Educational Trust president N. Sivaprakasam presided over. College Secretary S. Sivanandan, Correspondent R. Mohanraj, and Principal A.T. Ravichandran also spoke.

‘Success is a basic right’

At Kongu Engineering College, the first year classes were inaugurated by SKM Maeilanandan, Founder Chairman, SKM Group of Companies, Erode, and president, World Community Service Centre.

In his address, Mr. Maeilanandan said success was the basic right for everyone. Knowledge, skill, punctuality, character and culture are the important factors for a student’s success, he said.

E.K. Lingamurthy, president, KVIT Trust, presided. P.C. Palanisamy, Secretary, KVIT Trust, and V.K. Muthusamy, College Correspondent, addressed the students.

P. Rajaram, retired Head, Department of Tamil, S.V.N. College, Madurai, elaborated on the value of education and discipline to students of M.P.Nachimuthu M.Jaganathan Engineering College. College Correspondent Vasantha Sudhanandhen, presided over the inauguration programme.
