Constable held for molestation
MUMBAI: A police constable has brought another bad name for the already demoralize force after he was caught for outraging the modesty of woman. A police constable attached to Khar police station was arrested by the Rafi Ahmed Kidwai (RAK) Marg police in Dadar for molesting a woman. Arrested constable Kishore Deshmukh who is attached to Khar police station has rubbished the claim saying that it was an accident.
The incident comes hot on the heels when the police is already reeling under the recent accusation of three cops kidnapping a model and sexually molesting her and IPS Sunil Paraskar who allegedly raped a model last year.
Police constable identified as Kishore Deshmukh (38) who is attached to the Khar police station was arrested under the IPC section of 354 and was released on bail on Sunday. Police sources said that the incident is of Saturday night when a young woman from Manipur who works in western suburbs had gone for her some personal work at Dadar. It was around 9.30 pm when the woman was waiting near Sun Towar near Bhoiwada in Dadar to engage a taxi when the accused police constable Deshmukh who resides in the Naigaon police quarters inappropriately touched her. Immediately after Deshmukh touched her, victim woman raised alarm after which there was a heated argument between the two. Deshmukh who was in mufti was fleeing when the members of public caught and handed him to RAK marg police.
"During the interrogations constable has said that it was accidental touch and he had no intention to touch her which we don't know. But as per the supreme court directions on the woman's complaints we have arrested the constable and we will collect evidence and send in the court." Said Arun Inarkar, senior inspector of RAK Marg police station. Victim woman told police that the way Deshmukh touch her inappropriately does not appear to be an accident and hence she had gone ahead and registering the case.
