Slipknot was forced to stop their concert in Hartford, Connecticut after bassist Alessandro "Vman" Venturella had to be taken to the hospital mid-way through the band's set.

The band left the stage for 20 minutes to tend to Venturella and later returned to finish their set.

"I'm gonna let you know what's going on right now. I'm sorry to say that our bass player, Alex, had — something happened," Slipknot singer Corey Taylor tells the crowd. "I'm not sure what happened. He's been put into an ambulance and he's going to the hospital right now as we speak. But I want you all to make f—ing noise for him. Send him some f—ing love. Now, we had a choice to come back out here. We've had to modify some s—, but we're gonna keep on playing for you. It's what we want, it's what Alex would f—ing want."

The cause of the incident is still unknown.
