TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - The University of Alabama is mourning the loss of a student who was working as a stage manager at a Texas amphitheater when she was killed in an explosion.

WBRC-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1VWYj3g) that sheriff’s officials in Texas confirmed that 21-year-old Peyton Trueblood was killed in the blast on Friday at Palo Duro Canyon State Park in the Texas panhandle.

Randall County Sheriff’s Deputy Danny Alexander says the woman was taking inventory when some fireworks exploded shortly before 6 p.m. Friday. No cause has been determined.

The outdoor musical “TEXAS” has been performed at the amphitheater south of Amarillo for many years. Pyrotechnics are used throughout the show.

Friday’s performance was canceled.
