Adrian laments grounded 'Missile'

By Agence France-Presse in Kazan, Russia | China Daily | Updated: 2015-08-03 07:47

Olympic champion Nathan Adrian of the US admits he is disappointed not to be able to resume his 100m freestyle battle with injured Australian world champion James Magnussen in Kazan.

Adrian won the Olympic title by one 100th of a second when he beat Magnussen in London three years ago, with 'The Missile' having to settle for silver.

The Aussie, who gained revenge by winning the world title in Barcelona two years ago when Adrian collected bronze, is absent from the 2015 world championships with a shoulder injury.
