GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Police have identified two people who were killed in a multi-vehicle collision in Glendale.

Authorities say 36-year old Steven Mendez, of Scottsdale, and 41-year old Isaac Rosario, of Tucson, both suffered fatal injuries Saturday in the accident near Grand and Missouri Avenues. A young girl was hospitalized with serious injuries.

According to investigators, Mendez was driving southeast on Grand Avenue when he went off the road, hitting two utility poles and then veered into oncoming traffic.

His SUV collided with two vehicles, one of which was driven by Rosario.

The female driver of the third vehicle suffered minor injuries.

Police have not yet determined if speed or alcohol was a contributing factor.

According to KPNX-TV in Phoenix, Rosario was a Tucson police officer in town with his daughter.
