NEW ORLEANS (AP) - New Orleans police say a 20-year-old man was stabbed after rejecting an offer to sell him drugs in one of the city’s top tourist areas.
Officer Juan Barnes Sr. says the victim told investigators that two men asked if he wanted to buy drugs, then argued and fought with him shortly after midnight Sunday on Bourbon Street.
He says the victim was stabbed in the back of his left shoulder and forearm, and his injuries are not life-threatening.
Barnes says the man is from St. Charles. He doesn’t know if that’s the Lafourche Parish town or St. Charles Parish.
Barnes says that after the victim was stabbed, the other two men ran.
Police released composite sketches of the two other men, and say they’re wanted for aggravated battery.
