JAIPUR: The urban development and housing (UDH) minister Rajpal Singh Shekhawat blamed the Congress government for poor financial condition of the civic bodies in the state.
During a review meeting of the department, the minister said in 2013, the pervious government established new Urban Improvement Trust (UITs) in many cities without having resources.
Due to this many other UITs, which are already facing financial losses, have to support these new establishments. "In the previous government, the debts on Jodhpur Development Authority (JDA) and Kota (UIT) was Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 crore respectively, due to the various decisions," said the minister.
Singh also said there are many cities in the state where there is no development plan. Directions has been given to prepare a plan. Moreover, to overcome with the polluted water problem in Neemrana and Bhiwadi direction was also given to draw a mobility plan.
An official said that the minister was informed about the land band prepared for the 'Resurgent Rajasthan 2015' summit scheduled to be held in October-November.
The civic body has prepared nearly 33,000 bigha land bank and made the records online, khasra wise to maintain transparency and to give the investor a clear picture. Official said the JDA had created the land bank after scouting for land in 710 villages. An official said, "The land list will be divided into two categories. The first category will have lands over 50 bigha and second category will have lands between 10 and 50 bigha. The revenue records of these lands will be made available online for the buyers," he added.
