Embezzlement of funds: HESCO officials terminated from service

Hesco spokesperson Sadiq Kubar said that they misappropriated Rs216 million under bogus adjustments

HYDERABAD: Three officials of BPS-18 grade of the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) were terminated from service after a departmental inquiry established charges of corruption against them. Latifabad subdivision operation wing executive engineer Tariq Bajari, Kotri subdivision operation wing executive engineer Imtiaz Ahmed Qureshi and Nawabshah subdivision operation wing executive engineer Ashok Kumar were already under suspension since February. Hesco spokesperson Sadiq Kubar said that they misappropriated Rs216 million under bogus adjustments. Bajari allegedly embezzled Rs77.25 million while Qureshi and Kumar misappropriated funds worth Rs46.3 million and Rs93.63 million, respectively.
