Iran has plans to acquire up to 90 planes annually from Boeing (BA) and Airbus upon the lifting of trade sanctions by Western countries, the Islamic nation's state news agency IRNA is reported to have said, quoting an aviation official.
The plans to acquire the planes follows last month's landmark nuclear breakthrough between Iran and world powers led by the U.S. that mas increased the possibility of the easing of sanctions by this year.
It is reported that Iran would need at least 300 planes spread over a number of years to refurbish its ageing commercial aircraft fleet.
