Mayor of Surat has in a note to municipal commissioner suggested that Surat Municipal Corporation(SMC) should set up a dedicated ‘Clean Tapi cell’ for cleaning of river Tapi. Proposed cell should have 200 laborers, supervisor staff and one higher officials, he suggested. This is another initiative of Mayor of Surat who had earlier also proposed that railway should give responsibility of cleaning of Surat railway station to Surat Municipal Corporation(SMC), as railway station creates first impression of city and if it is not properly cleaned, city attracts bad impression.

Delhi Nagar Nigam team to visit Surat

Delhi Nagar Nigam’s team will vsit Surat Municipal Corporation(SMC)’s development project including GIS system, virtual civic centre’s online facility, mobile application of SMC, complain cell, door to door checking system, garbage collection etc. The team of four to five officials will visit Surat during 5-6-7 August.
