INDORE: Ratlam police have busted an inter-state vehicle lifters’ gang on Saturday that sold the vehicles after making forged documents of the vehicle. An RTO agent and vehicle seller is from Indore.
In a major breakthrough, Ratlam police on Saturday busted an inter-state vehicle lifters’ gang on Saturday. The gang members allegedly stole four-wheelers and prepared forged documents of vehicles to sell them off.

During checking in Deendayal Nagar, police arrested Prakash alias Bunty (37), who was driving a SUV. When on-duty police officer asked for vehicle registration papers, the accused could not produce the documents. As he failed to give satisfactory reply, police detained him.
During interrogation, he told police that it was a stolen vehicle and Pritesh Jain, a resident of Indore, gave the vehicle to him to sell it off. Three other accused, including racket kingpin are on the run. Police investigations might expose a major vehicle lifting syndicate in coming days.
SP, Ratlam, Avinash Sharma said, “We are probing the role of Dewas RTO. Pritesh Jain, Navdeep Jain and Indore-based RTO agent Praveen Kumar Bhansali used to forge documents and sold vehicles to the buyers. On the basis of information provided by the accused Bunty, we recovered four vehicles.”
Police have launched a hunt to nab the remaining accused at the earliest.
