10 bovines rescued, one smuggler held

RAJOURI, Aug 1: As a part of drive against menace of bovine smuggling, Nowshera Police led by SHO Nowshera, Chaman Gorkha, under the supervision of SDPO Nowshera, Sargun Sukhla laid a naka/checking at Thalaka and seized one TATA Mobile bearing registration No.9357-JK04A and rescued 4 bovine animals.
Due to darkness and dense conditions, the smugglers who were going via Mughal Road without any permission, fled away from the spot.
In this connection, case FIR No. 139/2015 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PCA has been registered at P/S Nowshera and investigation is going on.
In another incident, Rajouri Police led by SHO P/S Rajouri Yashpal Singh Jamwal laid a naka on specific information at Kheora Bridge and arrested one bovine smuggler namely Shah Johan, S/o Hakim Shah, R/o Planger Thanamandi and rescued 6 bovine animals near the bank of river Kheora.
In this connection, Case FIR No. 386/2015 U/S 188 RPC 3 PCA has been registered at P/S Rajouri and investigation is going on.
It is pertinent to mention here, that during the year 2015, 74 cases of bovine smuggling have been registered against 152 persons 446 bovine animals rescued and 42 vehicles have been seized so far.
