Kidnapped woman recovered

RAJOURI, Aug 1: Police today recovered a kidnapped woman from Chak Watto area in Kulgam
According to a police spokesperson, a woman namely Zarina Begum wife of Mohd Shabir, a resident of Hari Chumma, Kalakote, had gone missing from her residence on May 28 this year following which a missing complaint was registered on May 29 at police station Kalakote.
On July 25, SHO Kalakote, Deputy SP (P) Mujahid-ul-Haq under the supervision of Additional SP Nowshera, Rakesh Kumar, on the direction of SSP Rajouri, Dr Haseeb Mughal, constituted a team led by PSI Navneet Verma.
After strenuous and perspiring effort of the team, it came to fore that the woman has been kidnapped and illegally confined by two brothers at Chak Watto, Tehsil DH Pora, District Kulgam. The police team raided the place and recovered the woman from there. However, the kidnappers managed to escape.
According to the statement of Zarina Begum, she was kidnapped forcefully by the accused namely Hilal Ahmad Mir and Manzoor Ahmad Mir, both sons of Gh Hassan Mir of Chak Watto, Tehsil DH Pura and District Kulgam from their rented room at Kalakote.
According to her, they wrongfully confined her in a room in their house for nearly two and half months. She also disclosed that they prepared fake documents of her marriage with accused Hilal Ahmad, who used to rape her.
In this connection a case has been registered at police station Kalakote. After medical examination and completing other legal formalities the women was handed over to her family while the further investigation is going on.
