The Shivamogga Newspaper Sub-agents’ Association had organised a programme here recently to condole the death of the former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

Speaking on the occasion, president of the association Ganesh Bhat said that Mr. Kalam, who worked as a newspaper distributor during childhood to support his family and his education later, went on to occupy the coveted post of the President. Mr. Kalam believed that persistent effort was necessary to achieve any goal. The present-day youth should draw inspiration from the life of Mr. Kalam, he said.

Functionaries of the association N. Ravi Kumar, Manjunath and Satyanarayan were present.
