Vasan’s plea

August 02, 2015 12:00 am | Updated March 29, 2016 12:40 pm IST - THANJAVUR:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi should direct Union Ministers concerned to intervene and solve the Neyveli Lignite Corporation imbroglio. If allowed to sustain, there was danger of power supply getting affected in southern States, said G.K.Vasan, Tamil Mannila Congress leader, said here on Saturday.

As regards water availability for samba crop in the Cauvery delta region, Mr.Vasan urged the Centre to counsel Karnataka not to remain adamant in releasing water to Tamil Nadu.

The State government must also chart a proper water release schedule so that even tail-end areas get adequate water to see through samba and thaladi crops.
