Rajahmundry Central Jail prisoner gives slip to policemen

Srinivas was sentenced life term in a murder case
Kakinada: A prisoner of Rajahmundry Central Jail, Derangula Srinivas, 31, of Nallaguntapalli village in Ramapuram mandal of Kadapa district escaped from police custody at Kakinada on Saturday afternoon.
According to sources, Srinivas was sentenced life term in a murder case and is undergoing punishment in Central Jail at Rajahmundry. He was brought to the court for his involvement in chain-snatching cases booked in Town II crime police.
He was produced before Fifth Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate at Kakinada. He gave a slip to the cops while he was being taken back to the prison by two security guards.
While one constable was purchasing bus tickets at bus stop near Government General Hospital, Kakinada, the prisoner pushed the another constable and escaped from the spot with handcuffs. Srinivas climbed a bike and escaped from the spot. According to sources, an unknown person wearing helmet was following the prisoner on motorcycle till bus stop. Town I police registered a case and the investigation is on.
