CME on gastric illnesses today
Nagpur: Physicians from across Vidarbha will be discussing the various aspects of treating gastroenterology on Sunday. The new team of Association of Physicians of India (API), Vidarbha chapter will be installed even as the national symposium on the topic takes place.
The new team will be installed at Hotel Centre Point, Ramdaspeth at 9am by finance minister Sudhir Mungantiwar. Dr Ashok Wasalwar from Chandrapur and city’s Dr Shankar Khobragade have been elected president and secretary respectively.
Renowned social activist Dr Abhay Bang will be guest of honour. The symposium that will follow the installation ceremony has been accredited two points by Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC).
The morning session of the CME will have case presentations on unusual presentation of gastric diseases, followed by the installation and then the symposium. Dr Waibhav Ganjewar would speak about pyrexia of unknown origin while Dr Pankaj Ingle will present interesting cases.
Dr Wasalawar will be delivering presidential oration on the topic, ‘Doctor are you really healthy?’. Other topics that will be discussed during the symposium include approach to constipation, oesophageal manometry in GERD by Dr Rajesh Sainai, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) by Dr Shrikant Mukewar, role of imaging in liver fibrosis by Dr Mateen and hepatitis C.
