CAPD books 60 defaulters, recovers Rs 32400 as fine

JAMMU, Aug 1: A team of Directorate of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) conducted checking of various commercial establishments, booked 60 defaulters and recovered fine on spot for violation of various provisions of Essential Commodities Act, today.
During the drive, 125 inspections/market  checking’s of fruit and vegetable sellers, halwai shops, dry fruit shops, dhabas, bar and restaurants, mutton and chicken shops, karyana shops, etc in the areas of Janipur, Roop Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Nanak Nagar, Railway Station, Channi Himmat, Talab Tillo, Yatri Niwas, Bhawati Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Nai Basti, Gangyal was conducted and booked 60 defaulters and fine amounting to Rs 32400  was recovered on spot for violation provisions of Essential Commodities Act.
The team was headed by Atam Dev Singh, Deputy Director, (supplies) Jammu along with Ramesh Kumar and Ajay Salaam, Assistant Director, Rajinder Kumar, Ramam Kumar, Dewaan Singh, Harpal Singh and Subash Chander, Area Inspectors.
The team also warned all commercial establishments not to violate the provisions contained under Essential Commodities Act.
