A one-day symposium on the topic “Excellence in Higher Education-challenges & remedies” was organised at Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical Sciences here today.

Prof PK Garg, Vice-Chancellor, Uttarakhand Technical University inaugurated the programme. Addressing students and staff, Prof Garg said the trends in higher education were changing very rapidly and it was essential to adopt modern techniques. In today’s scenario, only those faculties were successful which taught students about the subject matter as well as updated them with the recent market trends.

RP Dobhal of SGRR education mission spoke on the topic “Innovative and Interactive Teaching Learning Practices”. He said the real flow of knowledge was possible only if what teachers taught entered straight into the hearts of the students.

Principal of SGRR PG College Prof Vinay Anand Bourai shared his thoughts on the topic, “Internal Quality Assurance Cell and Academic Excellence”. He said every college must form an internal quality assurance cell as it was of extreme importance to achieve excellence in higher education.

Dr Santosh N Rangnekar, Professor and Head of Department of Management, IIT- Roorkee, gave a presentation on the topic “Emerging Trends for Excellence in Higher Education” while Principal of MKP College Dr Indu Singh presented a talk on “Higher Education: Ground Reality and Challenges”.
