RAJKOT: The Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) has identified six more slums where residential projects will come up under the public-private partnership (PPP) scheme and slum dwellers will be given houses at the same spot free of cost.
RMC has begun implementing similar schemes in seven slum areas of the city. With inclusion of six new slums, the total number of projects under the housing scheme for slum dwellers has reached 13.
The house in these slums will be built under Guidelines of the Slum Rehabilitation and Redevelopment Policy (2013).

The slums identified include those in Machunagar, Hinglajnagar, Natrajnagar, Yuvrajnagar, Majothinagar and Bharatnagar. There are total 2,164 slum dwelling units and 123 shops in these six slums.
RMC will soon issue tenders inviting private players to build houses at the same location for the slum dwellers.
